Local History
Thirty-one listed buildings and tombs, five old pubs, two scheduled Ancient Monuments. An SSSI, a Roman villa, a colliery, dinosaurs, and possibly the oldest evidence of mammals on the planet. Not a bad collection for a small village.
Did you know Slickstones Quarry is a renowned fossil site, and that there's a 200-odd million year old beastie named after the village?
The Cromhall Archive
A new project on the site is the Cromhall archive, which aims to become a large on-line collection of old photographs, maps, documents and other items of interest about Cromhall local history and local family history, for all to explore and enjoy. We'd love to include any old photographs or information you have, so please take a look at the archive, and then contact us to let us know what you can add.
