The Log Cabin Club aims to provide the highest quality care for all the children and to offer a welcome to each individual child and their family.

We provide a warm caring environment within which all children can develop and play.

Our intention is to work with parents to make this club successful and fun for all.

Our Values

  • Play together
  • Learn together
  • Respect each other
  • Value each other

About the Club

The club is held at the Log Cabin sited in the wonderful grounds of Tortworth VC Primary School.

It is a community-based, non profit-making organisation, run by a voluntary management committee.

The committee is responsible for the policy and practice of the club, including the rules, charges and employment of staff.

The committee is made up of parents, carers and volunteers, who are elected at the club's annual general meeting.

All registered families are notified of the AGM, but new volunteer committee members are welcome at any time.

It is important that the committee has representatives from all three schools that use our childcare facilities.

All our staff have experience and relevant childcare qualifications, hold Criminal Records Bureau enhanced disclosures and hold valid first aid certificates. Also they attend recognised training courses to enhance their professional skills and experience.

The Log Cabin is registered with Ofsted (EY285318) for 24 primary school age children, and is regularly inspected by Ofsted.

What we provide

Children are offered a varied programme of activities to meet their age range, including craft work, sport, painting, model making and free play.

Themes and projects are used to enhance the wide variety of toys, games and books.

Children are encouraged to make their own suggestions with the emphasis at all times on fun.

Drinks and snacks are available.

Transport

The Log Cabin operates a taxi service, run by Five Star Travel.

Their smart, friendly drivers are courteous and knowledgeable of the roads in the surrounding areas and beyond and will ensure your child's journey is smooth and enjoyable.

The children are collected from a pre-arranged meeting place at Stone and Cromhall Schools and are delivered safely to the car park at Tortworth School, where they are met and escorted by a member of the Log Cabin staff.
