Cromhall Parish Council

The Parish Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month, except in December, in the Village Hall at 7.30pm.

Anyone is welcome to attend meetings, but may only speak when invited to do so.

Anyone can propose items for the agenda by informing the clerk of that proposal at least eight days before the meeting so that due notice can be given.

December is the month when Council sets the budget for the following year and is not a public meeting.

If any group/organisation would like to apply for a grant, please make your intention known before December so it can be considered in the budget.

Allotments

At the Annual Parish Assembly, held in April, the subject of allotments arose.

There are no allotments in Cromhall and much confusion arises when people become aware of 'The Poor Allotment Charity'.

This is a village charity which has nothing to do with growing things but with the distribution of its income, i.e. allotting income, to 'villagers in need'.

Provision of allotments can come under the authority of the parish council and subsequently council is considering this but it needs to know the general level of interest.

So, if you live in Cromhall, and would be interested in taking an allotment, if it were available, please would you email/phone me and let Sue Wray, Clerk to Cromhall P.C. know - see contact details below. Please register your interest by 7th July, thank you.

Cromhall Poor's Allotment Charity

This Charity was set up in 1973 with the objective being to relieve, either generally or individually, persons resident in the Parish of Cromhall who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress.

The Charity is administered by four trustees appointed by the Parish Council every four years.

The trustees can help (and would welcome applications) anyone genuinely in need of assistance and residents can apply for this help directly or through a third party, at any time through the year.

The funds come from income obtained in annual rents from land held by the charity in the village.

At the end of the year the surplus funds are distributed as gift vouchers, redeemable in the village shop, to senior citizens of the village.

Current trustees are Mr E. Scolding, Mr G. Cornock, Mrs C. Massey and Mr T. Bryant.

If you would like further information please contact any of the trustees or the secretary, Mrs.Sue Wray on 01454 294387 or by email: .
