The Cromhall Archive
The Cromhall Archive is an on-line resource for local history and local family history information. We aim to capture, transcribe and index as many old photos, documents and other items as we can, and to allow all to examine and explore this wealth of information.
Policies
Copyright
We will respect copyright holders' rights wherever possible. Material still within copyright will only be published with the rights holder's permission; for old photos the copyright usually belongs to the person who took the photograph, for a period possibly up to 70 years after their death. More information on copyright. If we erroneously publish a copyrighted photo or document without permission, let us know and we'll attempt to get permission, or remove it.
Attribution
If you have a photo you'd like to us to publish on the archive, we will happily include copyright information or other credit below the image.
Acceptable use
Many images and/or transcripts in the archive are copyrighted, and used with permission. Please don't reuse them without also obtaining permission yourself (read about fair-use exceptions).
Please feel free to link to the archive, or pages within it, from other websites. We ask that you don't link directly to the image files.
In addition to individual copyrights, the archive as a whole is protected by both copyright and database right.
Living people
We will not usually include material that contains information about living individuals, without their permission. Generally speaking, we'll only publish biographical information about people born more than 100 years ago.
